Climate and seasons

When should you visit Curaçao?

Curaçao is warm throughout the year. The useful question is not whether winter arrives, but how rain, wind and heat change the shape of your days.

Season by season

What changes through the year.

February–MayThe driest core

Meteo Curaçao identifies February through May as the dry season. This is the clearest choice when minimising rain matters most.

What this means

Reliable beach planning does not mean cooler weather: daytime heat remains part of the trip.

June–SeptemberWarm transition

The middle of the year moves from dry conditions toward the wetter season. Mean temperatures peak around September.

What this means

Plan exposed walks and nature activity early, then use the water, shade or pool during the hotter part of the day.

October–JanuaryThe wetter period

The official rainy season runs from October through January. Showers often arrive late at night or in the early morning.

What this means

Wetter does not mean continuous rain, but short intense showers can affect low-lying roads and tightly timed plans.

All yearWarm sea, easterly wind

Temperatures stay warm year-round. Sea temperatures average about 27°C and easterly trade winds are a defining part of the climate.

What this means

Wind changes how the heat feels. A still day can feel substantially warmer than the thermometer suggests.

Make the date decision

Choose for the trip, not a weather icon.

Do you mainly want beach certainty?

Start with February through May, while remembering that short showers can occur in any month.

Are you planning hiking or long city walks?

The month matters less than the hour: protect the morning and avoid building the hardest outdoor activity into midday heat.

Does hurricane season rule out summer or autumn?

No. The Atlantic season runs June through November, but Curaçao sits on its southern edge and direct impacts are relatively rare. Follow official forecasts rather than treating risk as zero.

Should weather decide the whole trip?

Usually not. Area, wind exposure, pool and beach access often change the daily experience more than a small seasonal temperature difference.
